Yes, Future Motion and CPSC have issued two separate recalls covering different problems. The larger one, announced September 29, 2023, covered roughly 300,000 boards after the CPSC found they could stop balancing the rider if the board's limits were exceeded.
An earlier recall on August 11, 2022 covered about 20,500 Onewheel GT front footpads that could fail to disengage after a rider dismounted, letting the board keep operating and putting bystanders at risk. The 2023 recall applied to six models sold between January 2014 and September 2023, and the remedy differed depending on which one you own.
Future Motion's current lineup includes newer models like the Rally XL, GT S-Series, and XR Classic, so the 2023 recall should not be assumed to cover every board the company currently sells.
You can check your own board using its model name, printed on the side, and its serial number, located on the underside of the bottom rail. Future Motion's recall page still runs an active serial number eligibility check for both recalls.
That check confirms CPSC and Future Motion identified a real hazard, but it does not by itself prove the recalled condition caused your injury. Your claim would still need evidence about your accident, the condition of your board, and your medical treatment afterward.
Confirming whether your board falls under either recall is often the first step, but it is rarely the last one. Our team checks your model and serial number, then gathers the additional evidence needed to connect your Onewheel accident to a specific defect.
